Viral Infections | The Ayurvedic Perspective

Dec 23, 2022 | Ayurveda

[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]Something is going on in the world currently over which we have no control. The Coronavirus is spreading everywhere, according to some people who are kind of health experts. It is important that we know about the virus and as healthcare experts, it is our responsibility to give logical advice on how to prevent the virus.  At the moment you are being asked to wash your hand frequently and to wear masks. However, we are not too sure how helpful this is because nobody knows the exact lifespan of the Coronavirus. They say it can survive six to nine hours before dying. Some even say the virus cannot be killed at all and other says that masks cannot prevent the spread of the virus because it is a very small organism, a microorganism. Smaller than bacteria. For those working in the health sector or coming into contact with Coronavirus cases, it is very important to wear masks. Other than that they say different things at different times such as some saying it is essential to wear a mask and other times saying it does not matter if you wear a mask or not. This is the idea in the western world, not the whole world. Kill it, bin it and prevent it. Kill it, bin it and prevent it – One of the fundamental rules about the virus is that you cannot kill the virus. How are you going to kill the virus? You can kill bacteria but not a virus.

Covid 19 as we call it, is actually similar to other times. You can see that each time there is an American election or something similar there is a virus – Avian flu, Zika virus, Ebola, Corona etc. Every two years or four years there is a virus scare. Unfortunately, the general public does not have a basic understanding of viruses and bacteria: what viruses do and what bacteria do. Why is this hidden from the public? It is really important to know. Why bacteria can be killed and why viruses can’t be killed? What are bacterial infections and what are viral infections? When children go to school they should be taught such things. We are all living in a kind of bacterial environment, a virus environment. We have to live with these in harmony. Without understanding that we go around saying “you have to kill bacteria and viruses”

What is the difference between viruses and bacteria?

For both bacteria and viruses, when you come into genomics and as scientists you know, there is the information code, DNA. Bacteria have a spiral and two ladders while viruses have only one, RNA. Most viruses have only the RNA code. DNA is for bacteria and other living organisms. When you have a single code or a single ladder like viruses, it is very unstable. DNA is very stable – the information is very stable. DNA will not change from today to tomorrow. It stays like a blueprint. Other organisms are also the same. This blueprint- this information is carried through from generation to generation for as long as they exist. RNA’s nature is the instability and so they tend to lose some information; parts get lost and other parts get added. That means the nature of the virus is changing all the time and the information is changing all the time. SARS can come into Mars, Mars can come into Pluto and into Neptune. This is changing all the time. And then because of the changes, you can identify it today as Coronavirus. After five months it can come as Corona but losing half of its information and adding other information instead. That means it can come back stronger or weaker. Nobody can tell. The flu can come back stronger or weaker. Like polio, which is eradicated now, but the polio virus can be identified now from 100 years back as having lost information and changed here and there. It is becoming something else. The personality or the way of the virus is changing all the time.

Viruses vs. Vaccinations

When you make a vaccine, it takes 3 to 5 years since all the research etc has to be done. It can even take 10 years. For 10 years does the virus stay the same? So then why are we killing our children with different kinds of vaccinations? The virus is changing all the time. Our immunity gets compromised by unnecessary information given by the vaccination. But we have done it, fine. We think Polio is gone but polio might be changing into something else. SARS changes into MARS, MARS changes into Corona, and Corona into Ebola. Why is it changing all the time? Antibiotics can be used to kill bacteria, but a virus cannot be killed. The difference between bacteria and virus is that bacteria has some kind of lifespan. From coming to life till the end we can predict the lifespan. From the moment the bacteria comes to life till it dies, we can predict and know the end of the story. But with a virus, can you do that? No. Viruses do not have life and death but a period during which they wait like zombies – not alive, not dead. They can wait like this for over a million years, in a sort of inactivated state. They become activated when the atmosphere is the right one for them to thrive in. Everyone forgets that bit. You cannot kill the virus with vaccinations. They just become inactivated and become activated again once the conditions are right for them. Whether they will come back the same way no one can predict because they constantly change. Due to this changing nature, no one can predict how a virus will act in the future in our human bodies or animal bodies. So we are dealing with viruses blind because we cannot see their nature because you cannot kill a virus. However, as much as you can say ‘kill it, bin it’ can you actually do it? You can’t. That is the main difference between viruses and bacteria.

Why is it challenging to fight viruses?

Why are we so afraid of this virus? Generally speaking, why are we so afraid? Because bacteria have two codes we can use antibiotics to kill them, and we have some control. But do we? We now deal with superbugs, each time we kill bacteria, they come back evolved or ‘super’ – stronger. Each time we take antibiotics the bacteria comes back stronger and stronger and stronger. One day the antibiotics will not be strong enough to kill the bacteria. Bacteria is taking a kind of progressive pathway. Not so with viruses, they are like zombies and just act according to the environment. Not anything else just the environment. We fear viruses because the information code is unpredictable. Ebola can come back in the future a million times stronger and kill everyone on the spot. It can eradicate all humans from the planet someday or it can come back weaker and just cause sneezing.

How do viruses enter the human body?

Now we will consider how the cell is developed in the human body. Bacteria always lives on its own, it can procreate and survive on its own. Viruses cannot survive on their own. It needs a host, meaning you need a live cell to multiply inside. They reside there but how they live depends on 8 or 9 live functions. Viruses need a receptive host. Because viruses do not have the qualities to survive on their own they take their hosts prisoner and use all the information, DNA and genomics they can get from the host to help them multiply. Without an invitation from the cell or host, the virus cannot come. It is a very give-and-take relationship. I need to invite the virus to enter the cell. It releases its RNA and takes the host’s RNA, protein etc. Then they multiply and move onto another cell. It is like a demon inside the body. Without you even knowing the incubation period is completed and your cells are multiplying this virus.

An Ayurvedic Perspective on viruses

In Ayurveda, these are called ‘diseases from God’ – because there is no control. You just have to shut up and wait till the whole nonsense has been completed within you at which point you have to listen, obey and respect this nature. This is God’s way of telling you that the planet’s way of living by giving and taking has been completely compromised or destroyed. Here God means Universe, the universe’s way of eliminating badly behaved children. That’s how we see these kinds of diseases – chicken pox, smallpox, mumps, measles – everyone knows you can’t kill them; you have to live with them.

Even today there are still loads of outbreaks, such as measles and mumps and people are not scared of them at all. Go to Sri Lanka now and every season April to August, every house has children sick with measles and chicken pox and it is a normal situation. Does anybody die from that? I don’t think so. It is not like here. When you go to poorer countries you can’t be immunising all the time and quarantining and all of that. It is impossible. In Sri Lanka, they put a bunch of Neem leaves outside the house and then everybody knows this house has an infectious disease and to avoid that house, for a while. That is a polite way of saying “don’t come to my house’. My people are sick inside the house”. We don’t discriminate, instead, we politely respect their request that we stay away till the disease issue is sorted.

How do viruses work?

Viruses work through 4 types of receptor proteins which are;

Chemo receptors (chemical)

Thermo receptors (heat)

Pressure receptors (mechanical)

Photo receptors (light)

The invitation is given by the brain or the hypothalamus. The Coronavirus is called a cold virus because it likes thermo receptors – heat. That protein is produced by us which invites the virus into us. As long as you are not giving heat they will not invade us. We have lived with Coronavirus for millions of years, but we didn’t give out the heat receptor, so it didn’t invade us.  This heat is known as pitta in ayurveda. When you have a pitta imbalance in your body you give out the heat receptor. We have to analyse why everyone thinks the virus is developed in a cool environment. No, it is developed in a warm environment, your body has to be hotter than the virus. Now we go onto the mucosa. You can stay in a bucket of Coronavirus but if you have protected your mucus tract- mouth lips, nose, nasal cavities, oesophagus, larynx, and upper respiratory with a mask, can the Coronavirus get to you? Are there any other ways the Coronavirus can affect you? It can only go through the mucosa tract – only this area can invite the virus. Then why are we so scared? We can even have a bath with the Coronavirus as long as we protect the mucosa tract.

Viruses and the PH level in our body

The other thing is when you consider the PH level in the body. The PH level fluctuates in the body from 6.5 to 5.5 – 5.5 means acidic and 6.5 is alkaline. So 5.5 is the favourable PH level for the Coronavirus. If you can make it to 6.5, Corona won’t like you. Instead of talking nonsense, go sort out your PH levels. I will tell you how to keep 6.5 mucosa level throughout your life. Can you tell me other products with this 6.5 level? Your normal water. Milk fluctuates from 6.5 to 5.5. If you take the milk from the cow before pasteurisation it is 6.5 and after pasteurisation, it is 5.5. I don’t know if we should drink non-pasteurised milk but if we do it will make our mucosa a little more acidic. People who drink pasteurised milk can have bacterial and viral infections. Mother’s milk acidity is 7.3 to 7.5, similar to human flesh, and human conditions. That means giving children pasteurised milk is not good. Is milk power good? What we are doing from birth is conditioning the mucosa to become slightly heaty. And when you get heaty what happens, is the viral infection likes the PH levels. And if you give mother’s milk what happens? There is no bacterial virus in that, which is why they say breast milk is the best infants can have. Otherwise from the beginning, our bodies are being manipulated to produce heaty mucosa.

Pasteurising was done to kill bacteria which are now no longer found in cow’s milk. The bacteria have been killed over generations and the pasteurising process is no longer done. When speaking with farmers and they say it is better to buy raw milk because the cows are kept very healthy and the bacteria is no longer there, but the UK school industry is not allowing them to sell it. They do the testing, and the bacteria is not there. Buy the raw milk and add a little ginger. Why ginger? Because it increases the digestive fire. It is much better than pasteurising milk. Pasteurising is not only to kill bacteria, they are also trying to make it palatable and prevent indigestion because the gut is not supposed to have the 6.5 as it is hard to digest sometimes. Adding ginger helps with the digestion.

In terms of coconut water, what is the PH level? It is 5.5, slightly acidic but this is the bottled version. If you have coconut water straight from the coconut, from Thailand or Sri Lanka it is at 6.5, it is cooling. The bottling process brings down the PH levels to 5.5. That means when you drink bottled coconut water it is not cooling.

Coriander water is exactly 6.5. You can make coriander water any way you want. Do you want it at 6.5? I will give it to you at 6.5. If I boil it I can give it to you at 5.5. I can make it very acidic by adding ginger and lime. Coriander has prabhava – prabhava means it can change its character to suit your requirements. That is why I gave all of you coriander water. It has a profound effect on everyone’s bodies. How is that? This actually has 6.5, the perfect balance of the mucosa. It is a diuretic, cooling, good for colds and very good for unitary infections. It is also good for fevers. Why? Because it takes the heat out. It brings the 5.5 to 6.5. For conditions such as herpes and urine infections, we give coriander water because it makes your whole body 6.5. At 6.5 the bacteria virus can’t live. It’s logical.

Cornonavirus: The Solution

There is a story about a lorry stuck in a tunnel because it is a little too big to pass through. They call the emergency to come to assist and everyone comes such as the fire brigade. Everyone has a suggested solution for the lorry. Some people try to break the bridge. Some people try to take the roof off the lorry. An old man passes by and wonders what all the fuss is about. When he is told the problem he simply bends down and releases some air from all of the tires. What happens? The lorry can pass through easily. That’s exactly the same with Coronavirus. It can have a simple solution, but people are just blindfolded and talking about complicated solutions.

How can we make this 6.5 mucosa? This is pure logic. Why do Sri Lanka and India not have Coronavirus at the moment? Because their mucosa is 6.5! They have the warmth from outside, they are 6.5 within, and the Coronavirus is not going to affect them. Even if you put Coronavirus into their mouths, the Coronavirus will say I cannot live in these people. Why is it spreading in Italy? I am not discriminating. Tomatoes, pasta, alcohol, cheese and all the heaty food they consume. The more you allow your body to heat up the more you are inviting shit into your body – all viruses and s all bacteria; you are inviting into your body.

This is like a wake-up call. This is a wake-up call for everybody. That is what I always say, everybody is eating an unnecessary amount of food as well as completely unnecessary food. Because you don’t know the effect of tomato on your body, you don’t know the effect of pineapple on your body, you don’t know the effect of avocado on your body, because these are not substances you are naturally born with. I don’t know if it is favourable for your body or not. Same with meat. Now we have an epidemic of cancer in India, and Sri Lanka and liver disorders and kidney disorders. Why? Because they are consuming more meat. It affects their digestion.

As medical professionals and scientists, you can see right that it is not difficult to get rid of this Coronavirus. The world has given you examples, India is free of it even with five billion or trillions of people living there. One Coronavirus infected person is enough because sanitary is so poor there: in India and Sri Lanka sanitation is so poor. But India and Sri Lanka are free because the virus cannot develop there. They ask us not to visit as well now saying you stay out we are so cool now. Before that it was the other way around, you said ‘oh I can’t go to India the smell etc’ but now they say you stay with your Corona, don’t come we are free. What happened to us? Our bodies became more acidic, and we invited all the infections around the world to us. Again, constitution-wise, near the equator people tend to keep cool within and the heat out. They make alkaline within the body which made them more kapha. Their genes are more kapha genes to protect themselves. But here we create more heat within our bodies to protect us from the cold outside. We are normally more heaty which makes us go towards lower PH levels such as 5.5. People closer to the equator go towards higher 6.5 levels with alkaline to protect themselves. So the virus prefers those with more acid and more heat – cool places with warm bodies. Western people do not identify this. They don’t identify the heat receptor which is the hot protein invitation given to the virus to come. This they ignore and instead try to kill the virus which cannot be killed. It can never be killed.

That is where coriander water and coconut water come in with the best thing being coconut. Coconut, coconut oil, anything coconut which is why people around the equator are protected. When you look at a coconut tree what do you see? It is very tall and the flesh is really white. It is kind of near to the moon and so attracts more moon qualities. Coconut trees have a hold. When the tsunami hit Sri Lanka all the big buildings were wiped out but the coconut trees remained standing. A sort of immunity. Coconut has the biggest immunity, and it works in two ways. One is by increasing immunity or the soma quality in a body and two by forming a protective 6.5 barrier in the body. You know when you rub coconut oil into your hands it is creating a 6.5 barrier. Viruses hate it. When you create a 6.5 barrier in the whole mucosa area the bacteria will not come because it cannot multiply inside. This is a simple theory.

How do you take coconut? Normally I would say use a cotton bud to apply coconut on your mucosa, inside your nasal cavity and around the lips. There is also a way to make the whole mucosa tract reach the 6.5 level. There is a way to prepare the coconut. I have made a small video showing how to prepare the coconut which you can eat to keep your mucosa tract at the correct level. You break the fresh coconut and take the flesh of the coconut along with the outer skin which is brown. With a knife slice into the flesh to make half an inch of pieces. Use a fork as a prong to lift the flesh. Put the fire on and burn the outer skin in the open fire, until it becomes a blackish brown. You will be able to hear the oil spitting and see the flesh charring and get a nice coconut smell. It only takes about a minute, depending on your fire. You can even use a barbecue to do all the coconut at once if you are making it for the whole family. You can keep a big batch in an air-tight container.  Make sure the coconut is not getting burned by the flame and that the outside gets dark, but the flesh part remains relatively white.

! What happens here is that the outer skin is where all the oil is, not the flesh. So through burning you activate the oils which hold the PH levels. You must chew this properly and get the emulsifying effect which ensures the oil and water mix together. When you do this the effects stay with you for at least two to three hours. It creates heat and with the mucosa, it creates a barrier, both actions happen at the same time. This helps balance your PH levels so you are not infected by this virus.

Co-existing with viruses and bacteria

We need to co-exist with viruses and bacteria, we cannot always think of killing. What happens when you keep saying ‘kill it bin it’ – we are becoming monsters.

In ancient times when India or Sri Lanka went into battle, their first aid boxes were filled with coconut oil cake; rancid coconut oil cake. During these battles, a lot of cuts can happen with bows and arrows etc. These wounds can get infected with tetanus. On the western side, many died due to tetanus infections, but Sri Lankans and Indians knew how to prevent infections. They would place some coconut cake on the wound or cut and bandage it and keep it for a while. Because of this the wounds never got infected. Much later it was recognised that the rancid coconut cake had a fungus which was a kind of penicillin.

If you delve deep into the ancient ways of protection you see how they protected themselves while living in harmony with these bacteria and viruses. We can’t depend on vaccination – it is a stupid idea. You can’t kill the virus and you cannot predict the behaviour of the virus. You shouldn’t kill bacteria because it comes as resistance. What we have to do according to ayurveda is to keep our environment unfavourable from viruses. That is the only way, and it can be done. Like using coconut as I mentioned earlier. Viruses really do not like rancid coconut oil. A mouthwash with coconut oil is also good because it cleanses bacteria and viruses. This is not a lifestyle eating habit, you shouldn’t overdo it. Take it as a precaution. It is the same with coriander water, sipping it will help maintain the alkaline in your mucosa.

An example – There are five children who got chicken pox and the mother decides to stay at home and look after them. The mother will not get chicken pox because of her love. Love forms immunity. If a doctor decides despite the risk to continue working with sick people and does so with love and compassion, he/she is protected by that love. And that is beautiful, like Mother Theresa, you can go anywhere when you keep your balance, and the virus and bacteria will bless you. When my family got infected with chicken pox I didn’t get it though I was the one looking after everyone. Even my dad got it but my mum and I didn’t get it because we were looking after and caring for the others. Same with good doctors, they have immunity because of their love, compassion and energy they are immune. What has happened to China? They have completely done away with the spiritual. They kill all things, eat all things and so nature stood up to them and said “‘no, you cannot do that. I am in charge.”

This is a different way to look at this virus. Indirectly it is the mula dharma chakra. We are abusing our hold in the universe with excessive consumption, excessive sexual indulgence – we have taken the spiritual pillar away. Nature’s way is that you cannot live like an animal because the same virus that infected an animal infected us. Our bodies became animal bodies – at 5.5 – animal bodies. We should be loving and caring. Think of how your indulgent ways are affecting others, your brothers and sisters who are dying of starvation. We are all one. If you can’t recognise that then nature will not contain you – mula dharma chakra. It doesn’t matter how rich you are or how knowledgeable if you are not with nature. That’s how Sri Lanka and India are surviving. We need to change our behaviour and understand that we cannot kill everything. We have to recognise the whole, the harmony, that the almighty watches how we behave. Bad behaviour brings consequences. Sri Lanka has so many cancer patients- why? Food indulgence and bad habits. So nature says, ‘hey you are going the wrong way and I am going to remove you from this planet.’

Don’t worry we are all going to die. Accepting your death is beneficial. Similar to dedicated doctors, a good heart will keep you immune, like Princess Diana and Mother Theresa. That’s why healthcare workers are okay; because they do so much for their patients without fearing death. They act as parents to sick children who were isolated from their mothers due to Covid. Love is immunity, kindness and passion – if you have these nothing can touch you. Meditate, breathe deeply, do yoga, think about others and stay away from pitta food to build your immunity. That’s why masks are not good, they stop us from breathing deeply. Breathing deeply is important.
